Update: Only One Student Died – LAUTECH Management

The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, in Oyo State has stated that only one student died in the motor accident that occurred on Monday, the aftermath of which resulted in a violent students’ protests, denying the three earlier reported.
In a statement dated April 10, 2013 and signed by the institution’s Registrar, J.A. Agboola, the management said the “accident occured on the Ogbomoso-Ilorin road caused by a reckless driver who veered off the road and hit a 200-Level female student of the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, by name Olojugba Folakemi Esther which resulted in her death”.
“Two  students and three other persons (who are not LAUTECH students) were also hit by the reckless driver, but they only sustained injuries. The two LAUTECH students involved in the accident are currently receiving treatment at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso” the registrar added.
