Late Fatai Rolling Dollar’s wife Sherifat Olagunju weeps at the family residence, Oko Oba, Lagos
Sherifat Olagunju, one of the wives of the late iconic Nigerian musician Fatai Olayiwola Olagunju better known as Fatai Rolling Dollar who
pased on today, has told Nigerian Entertainment Today exclusively, that
the 85-year-old highlife musician and band leader died of the deadly
Cancer disease.
Speaking with a NET Correspondent at the late musician’s family house
located at Block six, Millenium Housing Estate, Oko Oba, Alimosho area
of Lagos State, Sherifat explained that Fatai Rolling Dollar had been
diagnosed with Cancer while on tour in the US sometime last year.
‘We
confirmed it when he returned to Lagos. He was a loving and caring
husband. He not only saw me as a wife, but also as his child. We had
many plans together and I will miss him greatly‘, Sherifat told NET as she sobbed.
Sherifat bore two children – a boy (6) and girl (3) for the late veteran musician.
